Open Letter to European Commissioner for Health Stella Kyriakides

On 11 October 2023 the PA International Foundation sent a letter to European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Dr Stella Kyriakides in relation to potential and effective alternative paths to combat the still increasing threat of a global outbreak of AMR. The letter among others refers to a crucial article highlighting the potential consequences of the increased production of antibiotics by the pharmaceutical industry outside the framework of a public-private partnership. The article also commends the European Commission for opening the door for the use of bacteriophages as an element in the fight against bacterial infections.
